Monthly workshop offered to provide resources, tools, and support to individuals and families seeking to gain financial control of their lives. Information is delivered in three separate two hour sessions focusing on distinct topics.

Winter Crisis Program – HEAP

The 2009-2010 Emergency HEAP Winter Crisis Program begins Monday, November 2, 2009. The program will assist households that have a total gross income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. The Winter Crisis Program can provide up to $175.00 of assistance with regulated electric or natural gas, $250.00 of assistance with non regulated electric or natural gas, $350.00 of assistance with wood, coal, or pellets, and $600.00…

    On August 20, 1964, the Economic Opportunity Act was passed by Congress and this act was signed into law by President Johnson under his War On Poverty. Highland County Community Action Organization, Inc. was established in 1965.

    HCCAO, Inc. is now in its 44th year of existence and both the staff and Governing Board are proud to serve Highland County residents.
