Winter Crisis Program – HEAP
The emergency HEAP Winter Crisis Program assists households that have a total gross income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
Summer Crisis Program
The Summer Crisis Program generally runs from July 1 through August 31. In 2016, the program was able to provide up $175.00 in electric assistance for qualified households.
The food pantry provides 3 meals per household member for a 3 day supply of food.
Monthly on-site workshop offered to provide resources, tools, and support to individuals and families seeking to gain financial control of their lives.
Highland Appalachian Transportation System – HATS
Highland Appalachian Transportation System (HATS) assists Highland County residents age 60 or older to and from medical appointments.
Ohio Benefit Bank
Highland County Community Action is a provider of the web-based Benefit Bank system in Ohio. A counselor and a customer work together to input, screen, and apply for programs such as: Food Stamps, Cash Assistance, Medical Assistance, Child Care Subsidy, HEAP, Prescription Assistance Programs, Free and Reduced School Meals, Senior Community Employment Services, and others. The Benefit Bank also provides an opportunity for low and moderate income customers to file current and up to two years of back federal and state taxes for free.
