The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development is pleased to announce the availability of the COAD David V. Stivison Appalachian Community Action Scholarship Fund- 2016.  COAD is offering this scholarship in collaboration with Highland County Community Action Organization, Inc. to students in Highland County who wants to attend an institution of higher education, but lack the required resources to do so.

Eligible applicants will be required to submit a completed application form provided by COAD according to the instructions given.  All applications should go directly to Highland County Community Action Organization, Inc.  1487 North High Street, Ste. 500, Hilsboro, Ohio 45133.

The completed application must be submitted (postmarked) to Highland County Community Action Organization, Inc. by April 1, 2016  to be considered for funding for the academic year beginning in September. Preference will be given to first year students who plan to attend either a 2 year or 4 year institution of higher education. Decisions will made by the Scholarship Selection Committee with the scholarship winner announced May 1. The Selection Committee will review the applications submitted and select the recipients based on need, character, inclination, grades, and other factors it deems appropriate, except that it will not consider race, creed, color, age, sex, political affiliation, national origin, familial status or disability in such selections.
