Transportation
Highland Appalachian Transportation System (HATS) assists Highland County residents age 60 or older to and from medical appointments. HATS has provided this assistance for hundreds of our Highland County elderly for nearly 20 years. To qualify you must be age 60 or older and not have transportation available for your medical appointments.
Several programs such as Passport and CARE which customers may qualify for assistance provide transportation with no copay. There are additional programs,residents might be eligible for transportation—however, a donation is suggested to help defray the expense as our funding is limited and the need is great.
