Workforce Specialist for Ohio Means Jobs | Highland County
Highland County Community Action Organization Inc. has full time opening for a Workforce Specialist in the Ohio Means Jobs Highland County Office. This applicant will work under the Director of Workforce Services. Successful applicant will identify barriers impeding client’s self-sufficiency and provide intensive case management services to assist clients with employment skill building, education and training, and other resources as needed. The Workforce Specialist will develop a goal and career plan with participant, as well as reviewing, amending, and conferring with management as needed.
Minimum qualifications for this position are a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in counseling, social work, or education. Experience with Workforce Innovation Opportunities Act (WIOA), career and education programs, or youth programs a plus. However an Associate degree with a combination of education/and or professional experience may substitute if it can be demonstrated that it provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties required of this position.
Applicants must have compassion for county residents and the desire to be a part of an agency that is making a difference in our county. Applicant must have a valid Ohio Drivers License and be insurable under the agency fleet insurance policy and must be able to bend, stoop, and lift over 40 pounds. Early Head Start Teacher Position Available
HCCAO is seeking an applicant for our Hillsboro Center for a full time Teaching position working with toddler age children year round and must have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood or Child Development.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: a productive and cooperative working environment; ensuring that all paperwork is completed accurately and within required timeframes; promoting health and safety practices; maintaining all files for children and staff; and ensuring that the program meets all Federal, State, Agency, and Program rules and regulations.
The applicants must possess or have the ability to obtain promptly a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License, and they must be insurable. They must have the ability to travel when necessary for conferences and meetings. Applicants must possess excellent administrative, organizational, communication skills. Applicants for this position must be able to work well with children, parents, and staff. They must be a team player with a positive attitude. Positions require the ability to stoop, bend and push, as well as lift up to 40 pounds. Positions require a criminal background check as well as passing a physicial.
