Financial Literacy

financialliteracy
Monthly workshop offered to provide resources, tools, and support to individuals and families seeking to gain financial control of their lives. Information is delivered in three separate two hour sessions focusing on distinct topics. The first session provides a detailed overview of banking, decision making, and consumer protection information. The second session details all aspects of budgeting including the completion of a household budget. Finally participants learn about obtaining and using credit, credit reports, credit scores, and ‘credit repair.’

A onetime fee of $25 for one participant and $15 for each additional household participant is charged, but can be reduced or waived based on income in certain circumstances. Participation in the workshop entitles customers to one on one counseling which can target any specific financial concern for no additional fee. There is no income guideline for participation or residency restrictions. Workshops are typically conducted once per month, M-W from 5:30 – 7:30 each evening. Prizes and refreshments available.
