Transportation
We strive to provide transportation services for children attending our Head Start centers throughout Highland County. Occasionally due to the length of routes we may establish meet points for parents to meet the bus for transportation into the center.
Bus safety is important to us. Sharon Setty, Transportation Manager, conducts presentations each school year to promote the safety of children in and around the bus. Buster Bus, our robotic bus, has become a welcome sight in our buildings and has visited our local public schools as well.
Bus Safety Rules
- Never play around a bus or go behind it
- Never run towards a bus while it is moving
- Never approach the bus until the driver has made eye contact and motioned you to come
- Stay in your designated place of safety until the bus has left the stop
- If you must cross in front of the bus, wait for your driver to give you the signal
- Get on and off the bus quickly
- Children must be escorted to and from the bus
